My sister was hoping to wield a hammer and drip sweat for Habitat. That dream ended when I got to the top of the ladder in our roofing project and had to return to earth. (Sorry, Ann.) Organizing and painting is very important!
It was great being back in New Orleans and hearing the buzz that is returning to the streets. This City and it's beautiful people are still in great need of any support we can offer.
The closest water source to this home is a mile away yet they were still flooded with ten feet of water. The water line was to the end of the sheetrock.
Lower 9th Ward.
Common opinion of FEMA.
Musicians Village is a Habitat project conceived by Harry Connick, Jr. and Branford Marsalis. These are going to be beautiful homes.
Check out the difference between the two sides of the street. Before and After Habitat.
Each home has a posted bio of the family who will own the home.
This was a sweet party. Tessa and Mike were relaxed the entire day and just laughed & boogied the night away...
I love when I process a wedding and I come across shots that I overlooked in my initial & cursory scrolling; they are like little presents from my Canon days after a wedding.
This reminds me of a couple sitting along the Seine in Paris, 1920.
Adorable, adorable.
That is what comes to mind when I think of these two. They were filled with such contagious excitement!
I just finished photographing incredibly gorgeous invitations and announcements made by Laura Jones who owns the bustling Penelope Paperie. Each amazingly creative piece is handmade and an absolute original. I love her attention to detail.

Look at these "we're moving" announcements! Adorable!

The evening sun was illuminating the back lawn in such a pretty way tonight... and I swear there was a magical breeze around 5:30. :-) I had to bathe myself in it!

Cupcakes. I adore them and I'm always on the prowl for ones I have not tried. I've been itching to visit Kara's Cupcakes in Ghirardelli Square ever since they were under construction. It's taken me about a year to make it there, but yes, it was worth the wait. Not only are the cupcakes adorable, delicious and bountiful, they're made with local ingredients...many of them organic. As I was walking back to my seat with one of their knives, I noticed that it was 100% biodegradable. Excellent.
The sweet and oh so talented Tania Lezak photographed me on the beach while I was trying to get into one of my favorite yoga poses. There's nothing better than yoga at the beach...too bad I was rusty with this one! :-)
